One of my favorite things to talk about and to share about, is being comfortable, completely comfortable in everything I do. Definitely not an easy thing to do for me, and for many of us.
So when did I become comfortable with trying new things? The key word is trying! It’s the old saying, I suppose – if you don’t try you’ll never know.
“At the very moment when people underestimate you is when you can make a breakthrough.” – Germany Kent
This quote resonates with me so much. Much of my life was controlled by others. I had given up, and felt invisible, but I always knew, inside me that I was a vibrant beautiful woman, full of ideas and a longing to try new things!
As I became stronger mentally and physically, I knew I didn’t want to live my life the way it was. I wanted so much more. My children were both doing well and away at college. I believed it was now time for me to play! Boy did I! I knew it would be daunting to do some of the things on my bucket list! First thing was seeing if I had something real with my invention of Tulifts, and I did! I definitely stepped outside my comfort zone and filed for patents, which I’ve never done before. Through this process, I’ve learned so much! Now I own my own company!
I also LOVE fashion and definitely have my own style. I didn’t have the freedom to express myself through clothing in the past, but now, if I can envision it, I will wear it. I love creating! And that too was “in me” but because of circumstances, that part of me was put on hold, now, it’s is just me!
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
– C.S. Lewis
This, is so true!! Keep dreaming!
This past year, so much of my year was completely outside my comfort zone! It started in January. I had an amazing photo shoot, with Ben Winkler Photography. This was my first photography session, just for me and on my terms. I love the photos I now have, they document this beautiful point in my life where I took a chance and truly stepped out of my comfort zone. I am able show how just being in front of a camera can change your life. I wasn’t comfortable having my picture taken but now I love it. And because I tried something that I was hesitant to do in the past, that photo shoot has opened so many doors! I love it.
What are some of the things you can try that may be outside your comfort zone? I would love to hear them. “Say NO to nothing. “ my double meaning quote! I made a promise to to give everything a try on my own terms.
