“That which God said to the rose, and caused it to laugh in full-blown beauty, He said to my heart, and made it a hundred times more beautiful.” Rumi
An amazing artist friend of mine, Stephen Bryer has an extraordinary vision of changing the world with his artistic interpretations of the divine Rose. He sees this happening, one wall, one rose, and one heart at a time. To this end he is currently working on a large public mural project in Laguna Beach at Laguna Coffee Co and he reached out to share a little of his vision with me and how it might intertwine with the direction of my fashion and modeling projects.
Here is a brief expose of what led to our collaboration for my recent photoshoot using his transcendent rose mural as a backdrop.
“From the beginning I have recognized that my rose paintings and the sensual petals with all their movement, highlights, subtle color and shadings express distinct feelings and energy that seem to enhance the personality and essence of whoever engages with them photographically and a unique synergism is created in that moment between the subject and rose. And why I wanted to explore this with Debbie along her new fashion items, was to see if in fact this dynamic would manifest the love, positivity and higher resonance that it has done in the past.”
We both agree it is evident in the stunning photographs that an art and fashion phenomenon instigated by the compelling beauty and divine nature of the rose has occurred once again.
After reviewing the images and seeing this “magic” happen I began to think more about the significance of the rose and its place of importance in this world. So many vast and wonderful nuances of the rose to consider. I recommend that you do this for yourself as well…and to “stop and smell the roses”
I try to never miss an opportunity to enjoy the beauty nature has to offer.
” If the rose is beautiful flower, it is also because it opens itself.” – Charles De Leusse
You are the beautiful flowers and we must learn to open ourselves to new adventures… if you don’t try, you will never know! I think of myself as a rose often. Trying new things all the time. I can’t wait until the beautiful mural is completed and we can do another photo shoot at the “Petals and Love” Laguna beach mural, soon as it’s finished!
