Just a reminder of a few really important things we can do to help us get through this difficult time:
Be patient with yourself. I’m making a “getting closer, but not yet” list of things to look forward to when our physical distancing requirements are lifted.
Consider letting go of things that might not need attention right now.
Get outdoors as much as you can. Sit on your porch, go for a walk, work in your yard. Just notice nature.
Maintain a regular routine, what ever this means to you. For me, it’s some type of exercise, yoga zoom just wasn’t working for me.
Connect with others daily. If I notice I’m feeling down, I’ll reach out. I’m continuing to connect with people in my life using technology, a phone call.
Recognize that grief can show itself in different ways. Anger, sadness, sleeplessness, inability to focus or plan, forgetfulness. I love keeping a happy journal – what made me happy that day and things I’m grateful for.
I’d love to hear how you are getting started this year. Let me know how you are going to make it a very good year!
