Traveling to Reset Your Mind

I didn’t travel that much in my early years, but the last 4 years I have seen so much of our beautiful world. Not only did I fall in love with traveling and visiting different places, people, and cultures but I’ve been blessed to learn the benefits of traveling.

I think one of the most important benefits of traveling is how it helps reset of your mind. Traveling truly places you in a state of learning and learning keeps you young. I like to think that traveling also brings back the childhood-wonderment and I love being in that state of mind.

I love seeing how countries preserve their culture, which is pretty amazing. For example, I loved visiting Prague so much and learning how much was preserved during WW2, and the reasons why. Recently, I visited New York Fashion Week and got an opportunity to model with clothes from House of Daughtry and Shop Bexo with my photographer from Studio Salty. I loved being part of the city and got to attend couple of morning shows and got on TV as I sat in the audience. I’ll have a deeper dive into this later, but I absolutely loved being in the busy streets, taking in all the quirkiness the city has to offer.

In California, where I live, there are every day stresses. By traveling, I learned how calm a mind can become when you are not sitting in the midst of every day stress. Seeing a different way of life is so interesting to me because it helps me bring perspective. In Bali, it felt like one big family. Villagers truly support each other. Even though Bali is a developing country, their community is deep rooted and that’s something that was so inspiring to me.

Next time you are out traveling try to take a journal and write down what you are feeling and how to relive that from day to day when you come back to “real life.” I’ve decided to always meditate and take time for yourself. Even if it’s 10 minutes out of a day, it totally helps to go back to your “happy place” when you have traveled to reset your mind.

I try so hard to put this wonderful quote into everything I do! When I travel I want to see everything the day will allow me to see and when I return, I’m grateful and refreshed and ready to take on the world completely renewed.

Where have you traveled and how do you practice self care? Let me know in the comments below!
