I think we have all been in situations that we may feel a little uncomfortable doing or maybe being placed in, and for many different reasons. We may not be comfortable pubic speaking (I know I was not comfortable doing this at first), but I knew if I were to speak about some of the difficult situations I have lived through, I would be able to help others. The thought of helping others made it easier to speak up and speak out about the experiences that I had.
This may be hard to believe, but I also didn’t like having my picture taken. I met an amazing photographer, Ben Winkler, who made me feel comfortable in front of the camera, he took the time to teach me what to do, and now I’ve put what I learned to help me in my work with other photographers/videographers that I work with like Crystal from Studio Salty.
Very little intimidates me now because I know that trying new things will put me in a place with more opportunities. It’s an amazing feeling to do what you see fit and I’m glad that in the process I can make others feel comfortable and unashamed! A little encouragement goes a long way!
Sometimes all you need is just a little bit of courage. Just literally a minute of bravery, a deep breath, an internal “I can do this!” I promise you, something great will come of it.
Think about that today as you consider whether to get up and approach a new business, a life partners, or as you mull over a big decision. Are you questioning whether you should speak up or just go along with something you disagree with? I made this a promise to myself a few years ago, I’ll never go along with something I don’t agree with because it slowly takes away from my me being authentically myself. Don’t get intimidated by all of it as a whole.
Enjoy these quotes that give me inspiration:
“To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.”
Let’s all try and live in the moment, enjoy it because it can be gone very quickly. Life is short so let’s live, love, and keep learning.
